Hello to my first video tutorial !!
I have been wanted to make something more entertaining and visual to show how everyday cooking doesn’t has to be a hassle, so I hope it gives you a good idea on : How to make the recipe and , Yes it is doable by anybody even when you don’t have so much time or so much cooking skills !! This is real life guys !!
As I explained in the video, I decided to make an advent calendar for Emi, but because we live in a mini house I don’t want to buy reusable advent calendar (can’t store it all year) and because I try to be sustainable I am not fan of disposable ones 🤷♀️ so I’ve been left with the idea of hanging cookies from the three and up to day 2 (today) Emi is sooooo excited to find a cookie in the morning !!
To make them I use a regular dough “sable” recipe. Very flaky, crispy and buttery (I am not so fan of gingerbread, sorry). Also, this dough is the easiest one to make, you can’t miss it. The tree keys tips to make it perfect are :
– Don’t over work it.
– Wait until the dough is hard to roll it.
– Let the raw cookie sit in the fridge for 10 minutes at least, before placing in the oven.
If you follow those advices you are sure to make the best buttery cookies ever.
Sable dough recipe :
500 grams organic flour
500 grams organic butter
200 grams organic powder sugar
Mix together flour and butter cut in small pieces until it looks like sand (you can check by hand to make sure there is no more pieces of butter left). Add the powder sugar and mix again until all combined and it looks like a dough. Stop there, divide in 3 and wrap them separately. Place in the fridge for 2 hours and when you’re ready, roll the dough and start cutting cookies.
Once you have cut the cookies, place them on parchemin paper and let rest in the oven for at least 10 minutes (for me it was the time I turn on the oven and it reach the right temperature).
Cook for 10 to 15 minutes in oven at 350. (My oven sucks so it took me 18 minutes exactly). You want the edges to start getting golden but not too much. Time will depend on your oven so keep an eye on it 😉
